Brigitte's Pick - Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling

Whether you're a fan of The Office, or just a sensible fashionista looking for a good laugh, then you need to read Mindy Kaling's semi-biography. It's part memoir, part laugh-out-loud life musings. Kaling is a writer/producer/actor in the US television series The Office, and has a such a witty sense of humour that I could not put this book down. This book is basically a giant Kaling twitter update (which I follow her twitter obsessively!) From her views of what makes a great guy, to a retelling of her childhood living under strict East-Indian parents, this book is the perfect light hearted summer novel. I strongly suggest everyone go out and pick up a copy!

Susan's Pick - Style by Lauren Conrad

I have to admit that I was at first a bit skeptical about this book. As someone who religiously followed The Hills in its heyday (don't judge me), I knew that Lauren Conrad had a great sense of style, but wasn't sure if this book would really offer any unique tips or tricks. I delight in being proven wrong, though, because this book is a must-read for anyone looking to pick up some style pointers that will not only come in handy when you're shopping, but will also make your life a LOT easier! Conrad shows you everything from how to organize your closet most efficiently to the best outfits to rock for key events (first dates, etc.). Her writing is clear and direct, and she really seems to have channeled the answers to so many women's style quandaries. Perfect for lying beachside - you'll plan your evening outfits without ever lifting a finger.

Kati's Pick - Fifty Shades of Grey by E. L. James

When I first started hearing the hushed whispers of women discussing this book (and then the explosive hype that followed) I knew I had to read it. You may blush when you walk up to the register at your local bookstore to purchase it, but do not fret – it's worth the slight embarrassment! This book is not for the faint of heart, however. Prepare to be engrossed in a world of heated passion, love, sex and discovering your inner goddess. James captivates her readers with a less than ordinary take on what it means to desire to please the one you're with and delves into the consequences (and rewards!) that may follow as a result. If you're still not sure that this book is for you, try looking at it from the romance side. Perhaps the most interesting parts of the book are when Miss. Steele and Christian Grey are exploring the chance that their feelings may be deeper than just sex. If you have been debating whether to take the plunge and pick it up off the shelf, debate no more. It's truly a must read for all you romantics.. just do it!
