There aren't many designers who can say their idea for a global brand started from a day of fishing. Well, that's how Ted Baker came about. In 1987, Ted was fishing when the idea to start designing menswear came to him. By 1988, with help from his managing director Ray Kelvin, they opened their first store in Glasgow, quickly followed by King Street, Manchester and Nottingham Exchange Arcade. Ted Baker quickly became the place to buy some of the most well-made, contemporary menswear around. In 1995, the Ted Baker brand launched their womenswear line, and as you know, it was a hit! From the very beginning, Ted Baker has had an eye for detail and an excellent focus on quality. His signature pieces are classic and sofisticated, yet still out of the ordinary.
